Challenge Rules

The following are basic rules for the New York City American Heart Association Open Innovation Challenge. For full details, please review the Terms and Conditions.

  1. All entries must apply to the topics requested and represent significant technological innovations that help prevent and/or manage cardiovascular diseases and stroke, and/or promote cardiovascular health.
  2. All judging is final.
  3. All entries must be completed by the stated deadlines.
  4. All finalists must enter the Phase II crowdfunding challenge or face disqualification.
  5. Utilization of intellectual property not created or owned by the applicant or without license is ground for disqualification and legal action.
  6. No more than 30% of Phase II public crowdfunding may come from friends, family, or employees of the Applicant Teams, individuals or companies.
  7. All information submitted must be non-confidential.
